Falls Church

Welcome to Falls Church, an independent city of about two square miles in Northern Virginia. It’s named for The Falls Church, founded in 1734 where Native American trails met. Those trails were later paved as Broad Street, Lee Highway and Little Falls Street. The Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Trail, or W&OD Trail, runs through the city on an old rail bed.

The city’s farmers market, held every Saturday year-round at the City Hall parking lot, has earned national recognition. The 1845 Cherry Hill Farmhouse and its 1856 barn are owned by the city and open on select summer Saturdays. Housing includes historic homes, mid-century houses and newer townhomes and condominiums along the main corridors.
