Greenbelt

Welcome to Greenbelt, a city in Prince George’s County, Maryland, built by the federal government in the 1930s as one of the New Deal’s three Greenbelt Towns. Its Art Deco Roosevelt Center holds the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket and the historic Old Greenbelt Theatre. The Greenbelt station serves Metro’s Green and Yellow lines plus MARC’s Camden Line.

The original rowhouses at Old Greenbelt’s core are part of a housing cooperative, Greenbelt Homes, Inc., and newer sections add condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes. Buddy Attick Lake Park sits near the town center, and Greenbelt Park, a unit of the National Park System, lies within the city’s boundaries.
